Privacy Policy
Tasker ("we", "us", or "the Developer") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Tasker collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use the Tasker mobile application (the "App"). This policy is designed to comply with applicable data protection laws, including U.S. state consumer privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the GDPR where applicable, and the Solana Mobile Publisher Policy.
1 Overview
Tasker is a local-first to-do and task manager. By design, the App does not require you to create an account, and your core task data is not automatically transmitted to any Tasker-operated server. The information described in this policy is collected and used transparently, and only to the extent necessary to provide the App's features.
2 Data We Store
Tasker may store the following data locally on your device as part of normal app operation:
- Task title and description
- Due date and reminder time
- Priority and category
- Subtasks
- Task status (active, completed)
- Archive and Trash status
- Theme and appearance settings
- Premium status
- Wallet information needed for the wallet/premium feature (e.g. a wallet address you connect, and the last transaction signature)
Core task data is stored locally on your device and is not sent to a main Tasker server.
3 Local-first Storage
Tasker is designed as a local-first application. This means your task data is not automatically transmitted to a central Tasker server. You remain in control of, and responsible for, the security of your own device and any backups you create.
4 Regulated Data
"Regulated Data" means sensitive categories of personal data such as government-issued identification numbers, health information subject to HIPAA, biometric identifiers, financial account credentials subject to PCI DSS, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, genetic data, data relating to criminal convictions, and personal data of individuals under 18.
Tasker is not designed to collect, request, or process Regulated Data. The App does not ask you for this information as part of its core features.
5 How We Use Data
We use the data stored locally on your device only to provide and improve the App's features, such as:
- Displaying, organizing, and reminding you of your tasks
- Supporting search, filters, categories, priorities, and subtasks
- Backing up and restoring your data through JSON import/export that you initiate
- Operating the optional wallet tip and premium feature you choose to use
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not make Regulated Data available to third parties.
6 Access & Deletion of Your Data
Because your task data lives on your device, you have direct control over it. To access, export, or delete your data you can:
- Export all tasks to a JSON file at any time from Settings
- Delete individual tasks (they move to Trash), restore them, or permanently delete them
- Clear all data or uninstall the App, which removes the locally stored task data from your device
If you have any lawful reason to believe data remains that should be deleted, please contact us using the details in Section 16.
7 Import & Export
Tasker provides JSON export and import features (with Merge and Replace modes). When you export, a backup file is created on your device. You are responsible for the storage, sharing, and security of that file.
8 Reminders & Notifications
Tasker may use your device's local notification feature to send task reminders. Notifications are used only to remind you of tasks according to the settings you choose. Reminders are automatically cancelled when a task is completed, deleted, archived, or moved to Trash, and reactivate on restore or unarchive if the time is still valid.
9 Wallet & Blockchain
If you use the optional Solana-based wallet or tip feature, some information may be processed through your wallet, the Solana blockchain network, an RPC provider, or related third-party services — not through Tasker's servers. Blockchain information such as your wallet address, transaction signature, transaction amount, and transaction time can be public and visible on the blockchain network.
10 Third Parties
Tasker may interact with third-party services such as:
- Your chosen wallet provider
- The Solana blockchain network
- RPC providers used to submit transactions
- Your device's operating system (for local notifications, share sheets, and the file picker)
We obligate any third-party services we integrate with to handle data consistently with this policy where applicable. Use of third-party services is otherwise subject to each third party's own privacy policy.
11 Data Security
Tasker strives to keep the App's design safe and private, using best-in-class security practices appropriate to a local-first app. Where data is collected, stored, or transferred (for example, wallet interactions), industry-standard encryption is used to protect information in transit and at rest. However, because your task data is stored on your device, the security of that data also depends on the security of your device. We advise you to:
- Lock your device with a passcode or biometrics
- Keep your device's operating system up to date
- Do not share backup (JSON) files carelessly
- Keep your wallet, private keys, and seed phrases safe
- Only send tips to addresses you trust
12 Data Retention
Locally stored task data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed and do not delete the data. Archived tasks remain in the Archive view; deleted tasks remain in Trash until you permanently delete them or empty Trash. Uninstalling the App removes the locally stored data from your device. On-chain transaction data is retained by the blockchain according to its own protocol and cannot be deleted by us.
13 Children
Tasker is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) without parental consent. If a child uses the App, use should be under the supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
14 Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights under laws like the CCPA or GDPR). Because Tasker stores your data locally, most of these rights can be exercised directly in the App — for example, by exporting, editing, or deleting your tasks, or by uninstalling the App. To the extent you need assistance exercising these rights, contact us using the details in Section 16.
We do not use fraudulent, deceptive, or coercive measures to obtain your consent, and we respect your decisions if you decline to grant permissions (such as notifications or file access).
15 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" above and by posting the revised policy on this website or in the App. Continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
16 Contact
If you have questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or your data, you can contact the Developer at privacy@tasker.app or through the contact details available on this website and in the App.
